Update on Kurt Angle’s Olympic aspirations

Kurt Angle did an interview with in New Zealand. He says he’s spent the last couple of week’s at home solely training for the
Olympics. “I feel good. I’m healthy, there’s nothing that’s going to hold me back. I know there’s one guy in my weight class that I have to
beat – the No. 1 guy – his name is Jake Varner, he’s a world silver medalist. But I’m very serious about making the Olympic team. I love
professional wrestling, I love TNA, but I’ve always wanted to do something that no one’s ever done, and to win an Olympic medal at the
age of 43 is far beyond anything anyone’s done before.” Varner, 25, was a two-time NCAA champion at Iowa State and now trains under Cael
Sanderson at Penn Sate. He’s currently ranked No. 1 in the country at 197lbs and has a career record of 159-10 with 132 falls. He won bronze
in his weight class in free style wrestling at the 2011 World Championships in Istanbul.

If Kurt can stay sober and actually make the team best of luck to the guy.

I REALLY hope Angle can do this. Not only would it be big for him but Pro Wrestling too. You gotta thank the guy for all that he’s done. He’s got such a huge heart for what he does but I only hope its in a good way and he’s not addicted to being the best. 😛
