In 2006, WWE No Mercy was a Smackdown-exclusive event held in Raleigh, North Carolina

– Paul London & Brian Kendrick defeat KC James & Idol Stevens to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles – Mr Kennedy defeats The Undertaker by DQ – Rey Mysterio defeats Chavo Guerrero in a Falls Count Anywhere Match – King Booker defeats Bobby Lashley, Batista & Finlay in a Fatal Four Way Match to retain the World Heavyweight Title

Title Changes

1978 – Evelyn Stephens defeats The Fabulous Moolah to win the NWA Womens Title. Current WWE Title Histories do not recognise this change

1990 – Jerry Lawler defeats Austin Idol in the final of a tournament to win the vacant USWA Unified World Heavyweight Title

1991 – The York Foundation (Richard Morton, Tommy Rich & Terrance Taylor) defeat Big Josh, Dustin Rhodes & Tom Zenk to win the WCW Six Man Tag Team Titles

2001 – on Raw, Steve Austin defeats Kurt Angle to win the WWF Title. This would be the final reign before the Undisputed Title was introduced. Also, The Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) defeat Booker T & Test to win the WCW Tag Team Titles

2001 – Kendo Kashin defeats Masayuki Narase to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

2005 – Brock Lesnar defeats Kazuyuki Fujita & Masahiro Chono in a 3-Way Match to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Also, Black Tiger IV defeats Tiger Mask IV to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title and retain the NWA Junior Heavyweight Title

2007 – Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats Yuji Nagata to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title


Happy birthday to one-time ROH Tag Team Champion HC Loc (37), one-time WWE Champion Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin (31) and former WWE star Paul Burchill (32)

Also, today would have been the birthday of one-time AAA Tag Team Champion Art Barr (45)
