WWE Hell in a Cell Preview and Predictions
Oct 2, 2011 - by staff
Hey Gerweck.net readers, this is Joseph Nocera back again to provide thoughts, previews and predictions for WWE’s upcoming PPV event, Hell in a Cell. The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is one of the most brutal, barbaric and exciting events on the WWE pay-per-view calendar. This years instalment of Hell in a Cell looks like a good card. We will start off with the WWE Championship Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match:
Before we begin, I would just like to personally vent. I believe that it is a bit odd that WWE is holding the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view only two weeks after Night of Champions. The time between the two pay-per-views does not allow WWE to build Hell in a Cell up much and the build up is a big part of what is pay-per-view is like and how it plans out. I am very interested to see what this pay-per-view is like on Sunday night.
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP – TRIPLE THREAT HELL IN A CELL MATCH – JOHN CENA (C) VS. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. C.M. PUNK:
This match will be history making. For the first time in WWE history, there will be a triple threat match held inside the devil’s playground, Hell in a Cell.Threeof RAW’s biggest superstars will step into the demonic structure and fight it out for the right to be called the WWE Champion. All of these men have held the WWE Championship over the last four months at different periods of time. This whole thing started all the way back at Money in the Bank in July. C.M. Punk defeated John Cena to win the championship, and left the WWE. Then eight days after John Cena won the new WWE Championship, Punk returned with the title he won at Money in the Bank. At Summerslam, John Cena and C.M. Punk fought it out to determine who would be the Undisputed WWE Champion. After C.M. Punk won the match, he was attacked by Kevin Nash. After Nash left, Alberto Del Rio decided to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and he won the WWE Championship. Then on the August 22nd edition of RAW SUPERSHOW, Cena won the right to face Del Rio for the title at Night of Champions. At the Night of Champions PPV two weeks ago, John Cena won the WWE Championshipfor a record 10th time. The night after Night of Champions, WWE C.O.O Triple H announced that at Hell in a Cell, John Cena will defend the WWE Championship against Alberto Del Rio and C.M. Punk in the first ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match. Then this past week, all three men were trapped in the cell and the show ended with Alberto Del Rio getting the better of the WWE Champion, as well as the Straightedge Superstar. This match will bethematch of the night in my opinion, not only because it is a Hell in a Cell match, but because all of these three men have been impressive lately. I believe that all the momentum is with the Mexican Aristocrat right now. Even though he lost his match with C.M. Punk, he managed to get the last laugh. I believe that John Cena will win this match. I believe that WWE won’t take the championship off him after only 2 weeks, that would be stupid. I think that C.M. Punk will come close, but he will not succeed. I think that we could see an interference from Kevin Nash and he could cost Punk the match. I think that after he interferes, John Cena will hit an Attitude Adjustment on Alberto Del Rio and pick up the three count. I think that all the controversy will lead to a Fatal Four Way Match between Cena, Del Rio, Punk and Nash at Vengeance for the WWE Championship.
Prediction: John Cena retains the WWE Championship at 28 minutes
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – HELL IN A CELL MATCH – MARK HENRY (C) VS. RANDY ORTON:
This match will be very exciting in my opinion. Both of these men have been on a roll as of late, and both men have proven that they are ready to go into hell this Sunday. Two weeks ago at the Night of Champions pay-per-view, Mark Henry proved all the nay-sayers wrong after he won the World Heavyweight Championship by beating Randy Orton. The next night on RAW SUPERSHOW, Jim Ross announced that Randy Orton would be invoking his rematch clause against Henry inside a Hell in a Cell match at this Sunday’spay-per-view. Mark Henry has been destroying everyone is his path, including superstars, announcers and WWE Hall of Famers. This past week on both RAW SUPERSHOW and SMACKDOWN, he dominated and destroyed The Great Khali, forcing him to join Mark Henry’s Hall of Pain. Randy Orton got the upper hand on the World’s Strongest Man at the end of SMACKDOWN after delivering an RKO to the World Heavyweight Champion. Mark Henry is a very destructive and dangerous superstar and we have all seen what he can do n the ring, but could you imagine what he could do to Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell? But at the same time, you can not count WWE’s Apex Predator out. He is a very dangerous person in the ring and he can hit Mark Henry with the RKO at anytime. Randy Orton has an advantage in this match because he has been in three Hell in a Cell matches before against the likes of Undertaker, John Cena and Sheamus, While Mark Henry has never competed inside Hell in a Cell. I think that both of these men will be in for one hell of a fight. Mark Henry has been fighting too hard for too long and I believe that his World Heavyweight Championship reign will continue into the future. I think that Mark Henry will hit a devastating World’s Strongest Slam on The Viper and retain the World Heavyweight Championship inside Hell in a Cell. Orton will put up one hell of a fight, but I believe he will fall short. I think that Mark Henry will go on to feud with Sheamus heading into Vengeance, or could we possibly see the return of Big Show or Kane to feud with Henry for revenge? we will see what the future holds.
Prediction: Mark Henry retains the World Heavyweight Championship in 17 minutes
SHEAMUS VS. CHRISTIAN:
This match will be big in my opinion. These two guys have been working and fighting to get a chance at the World Heavyweight Championship, and I believe that whoever wins this match, whether it be Sheamus or Christian will earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship in the very near future. Since losing the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam, Christian has been begging and pleading for one more match for the championship. At Night of Champions while Christian was trying to get the fans behind him, Sheamus told Christian that he needed to stop. Sheamus then agreed to help Christian after Christian promised him the first shot at the title, but then turned his back on him and delivered a Brogue Kick to Captain Charisma. Then two weeks ago on Smackdown, Christian was granted a World Heavyweight Championship match against Mark Henry, and it was announced that it would be a lumberjack match. After Christian was going to leave, Sheamus threw him back into the ring, helping Mark Henry retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Then this past week on RAW SUPERSHOW, Christian asked WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H for one more match. Triple H granted Christian one more match, but not the match Christian was after. Triple H granted Christian one more match with Sheamus at Hell in a Cell. Christian was able to gain momentum this week after costing The Celtic Warrior the Intercontinental Championship on two occasions. I believe that Sheamus has never looked better in his career. This new face turn has allowed Sheamusto connect more with the fans and he has also been putting on some pretty impressive matches as of late.Christian has also been on a roll of good matches as of late, but I feel like Sheamus will get the better of the former two-time World Heavyweight Champion this Sunday in New Orleans. I see Sheamus picking up a big win with a Brogue Kick to Christian’s skull. I think that this victory will lead to a Henry vs. Sheamus World Championship match at Vengeance. As for Christian, I think that this entire ‘one more match’ storyline has to come to an end. I think that Christian should start to feud with new competition, maybe the likes of Sin Cara or Daniel Bryan. Will it happen? We will see what the future holds.
Prediction: Sheamus wins this match in 11 minutes
WWE DIVA’S CHAMPIONSHIP – KELLY KELLY (C) VS. BETH PHOENIX:
I think that the third time will be the charm for Beth Phoenix. At Summerslam, Kelly Kelly shocked the world and retained the WWE Diva’s Championship. Then after Beth earned another opportunity, the two divas had a rematch at Night of Champions in Beth’s hometown of Buffalo, New York. After a very impressive match, Kelly Kelly shocked the world again by defeating Phoenix in her hometown, retaining the Diva’s Championship. Since Night of Champions, Both Kelly and Beth have been able to get the better of each other. Last week on RAW SUPERSHOW, Kelly and Eve Torres defeated Beth and Natalya in a tag team match. But this past week on RAW SUPERSHOW, Beth pinned the Divas Champion in a tag team rematch. It was announced later in the night that Kelly would defend her Diva’s Championship against Beth Phoenix at Hell in a Cell. Then this past week on SMACKDOWN, after Kelly Kelly defeated Natalya,Beth and Natalya attacked Kelly, getting more momentum towards the match on Sunday. Kelly Kelly has had a very impressive run as the Diva’s Champion and she will be champion again in the future, but I think that Kelly’s title reign comes to an end on Sunday night at Hell in a Cell. I see Beth Phoenix hitting the Glam Slam and winning her 4th Championship in WWE. I don’t think that the feud between these two is over yet. I think that Kelly Kelly will get her rematch at the Vengeance pay-per-view in three weeks. I see Beth Phoenix winning the Diva’s Championship this Sunday in New Orleans at Hell in a Cell.
Prediction: Beth Phoenix wins the WWE Divas Championship at 6 minutes
SIN CARA (ORIGINAL) VS. SIN CARA (IMPOSTOR):
Over the last few months, there has been a lot on controversy over who is the real Sin Cara. At the Money in the Bank PPV in July Sin Cara was injured, leaving him out of action for up to three weeks. Then on the August 12 edition of SMACKDOWN, the Sin Cara character returned to action. After some impressive weeks, we saw a new vicious side of Sin Cara after attacking Daniel Bryan. Then on the September 16 edition on SMACKDOWN, We saw another Sin Cara come out of no where and all of a sudden, there were two Sin Cara’s. The original Sin Cara was the one who returned to confront the other Sin Cara. Then two weeks ago on SMACKDOWN, the impostor Sin Cara attacked the original, allowing the impostor to win a match against Daniel Bryan. Then this past week on RAW SUPERSHOW, The impostor Sin Cara cost the original Sin Cara the Intercontinental Championship in a battle royal. Then two nights ago on Smackdown after the original Sin Cara defeated Heath Slater, the impostor Sin Cara appeared on the tron and revealed a new all black attire, and he said that this Sunday at Hell in a Cell, we will find out who the real Sin Cara is. The match will bevery exciting. I am personally a huge fan of the lucha-libre style and both of these men are really exciting to watch. The impostor Sin Cara will be rough and he will try to use this new aggression and new attitude to his advantage, while the original Sin Cara will want to pull off some of his unique offence to pull off a win. I think that this will be an amazing lucha-libre match, and the original Sin Cara (the one who wears the blue, so Mistico) wins this match with his C4 flip off the top rope. I believe that the impostor Sin Cara will stick around to continue this feud and he will get his rematch with the original at Vengeance.
Prediction: Original Sin Cara wins this match
