~ Former WEC Light-Heavyweight Champion Doug Marshall & Richard Blake met on Saturday in the main event of Twilight Fight Night “Numero Uno” held in Woodlake, California. Marshall countered a punch from his opponent with a single right that put him down and out just 21 seconds into the contest. “Rhino” improved to 13-5.
~ The Ultimate Fighter 9 participant Dean Amasinger was victorious on Saturday in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. The welterweight defeated Shahid Hussain via unanimous decision at BAMMA 7 to improve to 9-4. He trains with UFC veterans Paul Daley, Ross Pearson, Andre Winner, Nick Osipczak.
~ “Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov” on Saturday had the following suspensions:
Antonio Silva: Suspended 60 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Yoel Romero: Suspended 60 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos: Suspended 30 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Amanda Nunes: Suspended 30 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
~ UFC welterweight Daniel “Ninja” Roberts (12-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) is injured and has been forced to withdraw from the preliminary card contest with T.J. Waldburger (13-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) for this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 25 event. The evening’s main card airs on Spike TV.
~ Featuring a middleweight headliner between “The Ultimate Fighter 11″ cast member Chris Camozzi (15-4) and 12-time Rage in the Cage veteran Matt Lucas (14-2), “Shark Fights 20: Camozzi vs. Lucas” takes place at Laughlin, Nevada’s Edgewater Casino Resort and airs via three-week tape delay on FUEL TV. The FUEL TV broadcast debuts Nov. 4.
