~ The Ultimate Fighter 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero (17-3) has been forced to pull out of his bout against Tim Radcliffe (11-4) this weekend at BAMMA 7 due to visa issues. Escudero says that while he’s off this card, he’s looking to fight somewhere else as soon as possible because he’s already got a full training camp in.
~ Tachi Palace Fights featherweight champion Eddie Yagin (15-4-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has signed with the UFC. The Hawaiian has seven wins in his last eight fights which includes a submission victory over ex-Bellator champ Joe Soto .
~ Exactly a month from now, the U.S. Century Bank Arena in Miami, Florida will see the return to action for UFC welterweight veteran John Howard (14-7). “Doomsday” will face Bellator veteran Dennis Olson (12-6). Howard is on a 3 fight losing streak. His UFC record is 4-3.
~ The well-known Japanese gym Grabaka will enter the promotional fight game on October 15 in Tokyo, Japan in its inaugural event titled “1st Cage Attack.” UFC/PRIDE/former multiple division DEEP champion Dokonjonosuke Mishima (19-7-2) is back in action for the first time in more than 2 years against DREAM veteran Takeshi Yamazaki (15-11-3).
~ WEC bantamweight veteran “Uncle Creepy” Ian McCall (11-2) will make the first defense of his Tachi Palace Fights flyweight (125lbs) crown at TPF 11 “Redemption” at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., on Dec. 2 against fellow WEC veteran Will Campuzano (9-4). Campuzano was released by the UFC after losing last December & January 2011, respectively.
