Aug 12, 2011 - by Jason Graening

Footage of the main event from Hardcore Justice is aired where Kurt Angle walked away with the TNA World Championship. Angle says he took advantage of a situation and says that Sting would have done the same thing. Angle continues to say that maybe he can’t defeat Sting cleanly but he will take the win and he is now the World Champion and says it is time for him to call the shots.

The Impact Wrestling intro hits and we head into the Impact Wrestling Zone where Immortal’s music is playing. Abyss, Scott Steiner, Mr. Anderson, Bully Ray and Gunner make their way towards the ring and there seems to be some tension still going on between Ray and Anderson. Ray picks up the microphone and calls Abyss a disappointment for costing Immortal their match at Hardcore Justice and says he is on thin ice with Eric Bischoff.

Ray then switches gears and says it will be him vs. Scott Steiner vs. Gunner vs. Crimson later on tonight in a Bound for Glory Series match. Ray promises that Crimson’s undefeated streak will come to an end tonight. Ray then turns his attention to Mr. Anderson and gives him credit for the way he fought in their match on Sunday. Ray says he has underestimated how tough Anderson is and says he belongs in Immortal.

Ray says their issues are over and says this isn’t about them, but it is about Immortal and taking over TNA. Ray then offers his hand for a handshake but Anderson begins to laugh at it. Ray calls Anderson a moron for not taking him seriously before Anderson begins to unload some punches on Ray. Anderson then nails Steiner until the rest of Immortal steps in and takes Anderson down. Ray then clocks Anderson with his steel chain, which busts him open.

Security comes into the ring but Immortal makes quick work of them as Steiner begins to choke Anderson with the chain. TNA agents then come out and get them to stop as medics make their way to the ring with a stretcher as we head into a commercial break.

We return to see Anderson trying to get off of the stretcher during the break but TNA officials insisted that he needed to be taken to the hospital. We then see Eric Bischoff talking to the four in the office and says it was his mistake and that Anderson should have never been a part of Immortal. Bischoff also says that Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle are on their way. Bischoff tells them to be ready as he doesn’t know what is going on with Angle. He then tells Abyss that they need to talk.

Match 1: Madison Rayne vs. Mickie James (TNA Knockouts #1 Contenders Match)
Mickie goes for a quick rollup as the match starts but Madison is able to kick out. Madison then comes back and rakes Mickie’s eyes and begins to rub her face into the mat as she takes control of the match. Mickie begins to mount a comeback and takes Madison down with a clothesline before connecting with a dropkick for another near fall. Mickie then heads to the top rope and hits a Lou Thesz press before finally putting Madison away with a DDT to pick up the pin fall and become the #1 contender to the Knockouts Championship.

Kurt Angle is seen arriving to the Impact Wrestling Zone as we head into the next match of the night.

Match 2: Robbie E. vs. Brian Kendrick
Austin Aries joins the announce team for this match. Robbie E goes right on the attack as the bell rings and puts him in a headlock. Cookie then gets involved as Robbie doesn’t seem to like her help. Kendrick then fights his way back into the match and goes for Sliced Bread #2 but Robbie counters it. Cookie then tries to spray hairspray in Kendrick’s face, but Cookie ends up spraying Robbie instead. Kendrick then hits the Sliced Bread #2 to pick up the pin fall. After the match, Cookie apologizes to Robbie but he is upset over the loss and says that he is sick of her.

Devon and the Pope are seen backstage where Devon gives him credit for beating him fair and square at Hardcore Justice. However, Devon doesn’t want to team with the Pope tonight but he needs seven more points in the BFG Series. Pope says they both need seven points and they got to do what they got to do. Devon then says that he still doesn’t trust him as he leaves the room.

Jeff and Karen Jarrett are seen arriving and they are in Mexican clothing as we head into a commercial break.

Robbie E and Cookie are continuing to argue all the way out to the parking lot. Robbie says he is finished with her since she is supposed to help him win matches, not lose them.

Footage of the Hardcore Justice BFG Series matches are aired. Crimson says he hasn’t been beaten in seven months and he has his sights set on becoming TNA World Champion. The updated leaderboard is shown with Crimson at top with 43 points, followed by James Storm with 33 and Devon with 30. Gunner, Bully Ray, and Robert Roode all have 28, RVD has 25 and Matt Morgan is at 24 but is out of the competition. James Storm makes the blind tag and continues to work over the Pope but Pope fights back and tags Devon into the match.

Devon and Storm take each other out as they both make the tag to their partners. Robert Roode and Pope go at it as Roode takes Pope out with a spinebuster but RVD breaks up the pin attempt. Roode then takes RVD out with a DDT as this match begins to break down. Devon is the last man standing but he ends up accidentally hitting the Pope in the process. Storm then takes Devon out to the floor as Roode takes the Pope down with a fisherman’s suplex to pick up the pin fall and the seven points to move into second place.

A video package highlighting the main event of Hardcore Justice is aired. We then see Kurt Angle walking backstage as Mike Tenay says he will explain his actions and that is coming up next.

Kurt Angle’s music hits as the new TNA World Champion makes his way towards the ring with a chair in his hand. Angle says fans may be surprised on how he took Sting at Hardcore Justice. Angle apologizes to Sting for what he did but says he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Angle says an individual talked to him prior to Hardcore Justice and explained to him that all wrestlers are scumbags.

Angle continues to say that there were others involved and that person was Dixie Carter. Angle says she stabbed him in the back by lying to him about not knowing what was going on between Jeff Jarrett and his ex-wife. Since Sting was her ally, he had to eliminate him at Hardcore Justice. Angle talks about their plan about him being the centerpiece of the company and how he was going to be surrounded by young talent. Angle says he will now be taking out that young talent until it is only Angle that remains. Angle promises that Dixie will never get her company back before he leaves the ring.

As Angle is walking up the ramp, Sting appears at the top of the stage with a baseball bat. Sting knocks the chair out of Angle’s hands but Hulk Hogan walks in from behind and takes Sting out with a steel chair. Angle then tells him that his informant was Hogan and he tells Sting that payback is going to be a bitch as Hogan nails Sting a couple more times with the chair. Angle and Hogan then embrace in the ring as we head into a commercial break.

We are treated to footage of what went down during the break as Hogan continued to beat down Sting in the middle of the ring. A video package for Bound for Glory, which takes place in Philadelphia, PA, is then aired as a series of wrestlers talk about how wrestling matters to them and how it is their time.

Match 4: Jackie & ODB vs. Tara & Brooke Tessmacher
The bell rings and Brooke starts out strong against Jackie before tagging in Tara. Jackie is tossed into her corner and ODB is tagged into the match but finds herself in the same predicament as her partner. Brooke is again tagged into the match and rolls up ODB but she kicks out and takes Brooke down with a clothesline. Jackie and ODB seem to be at odds as ODB wants to cheat but Jackie won’t let her.

Tara is back into the match where ODB is powering her around before heading to the top rope but Tara knocks her down. After the match, ODB and Jackie walk up to the tag team champions and shake their hands before leaving the ring.

A group of X Division wrestlers are seen standing outside of the office as we head into a commercial break. We return to see everyone standing in the office as Eric Bischoff tells them all to take a seat since they will be there for a while. Abyss is standing in the corner and he informs all of them that the X Division will now have a weight limit of 225 pounds so people like Abyss won’t be able to compete with them.

Bischoff then says they will have a gauntlet match next week to determine a new #1 contender and tells them to live up to their expectations since they are very high. Austin Aries steps in and tells Bischoff that he will make the X Division great so he can be proud. Bischoff tells the rest to take a hike so he can talks to Aries

Jeff Jarrett’s music hits as he comes out to the ring with his wife and the AAA Championship. Jarrett says people haven’t taken him seriously enough even though he took down an entire wrestling company in one night. Jarrett says he has now found people to endorse him as he introduces Jose and Jos-b, the Lopez brothers.

Two lawn workers from Universal Studios come down to the ring as Jarrett tells them to endorse the King and Queen of Mexico in their own words. The two don’t understand what they are asking and are distracted by seeing Hector Guerrero. The two begin to talk about the Guerrero family as Jarrett takes them both down. Hector Guerrero runs out to the ring to save the two and chases the Jarretts out of the ring with a steel chair.

Eric Young is still in Los Angeles, CA, and continues to look for a person to defend the Television Championship against. EY picks up a map of the stars homes and looks around for Scott Baio. We see an upcoming preview of EY finally meeting Baio on a golf course as Chachi picks up a golf club and walks around holding it like a baseball bat.

Mr. Anderson is seen walking around with blood all over his forehead and is slowly walking through the parking lot. Anderson walks into a trailer where Bully Ray is where Ray tells him to relax and that it wasn’t supposed to go down that way. Gunner appears from behind and takes Anderson out and the camera turns away as Gunner can be heard whipping Anderson with the chain.
