Updated Wrestlemania PPV buy rate

WWE’s second quarter financial report released on Thursday morning (8/4) has revealed Pay Per View buyrate totals for April, May and June. Here are the totals along with comparisons to last year.

* Wrestlemania 27 (4/3/11): 1,059,000 buys worldwide (up from 885,000 buys last year).

* Extreme Rules (5/1/11): 209,000 buys worldwide (up from 182,000 buys last year).

* Over The Limit (5/22/11): 140,000 buys worldwide (down from 197,000 buys last year).

* Capitol Punishment (6/19/11): 170,000 buys worldwide (up from 143,000 buys last year, then billed as Fatal 4 Way).

    How did WM27 do more buys then the year before… it was terrible… was it really just because of the rock?

    Could have been just because of that, or because they marketed it better. One never knows.
