It has been announced that Strikeforce has parted ways with heavyweight fighter Alistair Overeem. The shocking release of the 31-year-old Hounslow England native was announced yesterday by Zuffa LLC. Overeem still had one fight left on his contract and was apart of the company’s heavyweight tournament that is still taking place.

Known by fight fans as ‘The Demolition Man’, Overeem originally made his MMA debut back in 1999. He has competed in numerous MMA and Kickboxing organizations throughout his career. He first debuted in Strikeforce back in 2006 and has competed within the company for the past 5 years.
