AS I SEE IT 7/18: Money in the Punk…addendum

Well, Vince…you didn’t fuck it up.

But you surprised each and every one of us.

As I said this weekend…the obvious finish to the Cena-Punk match had been for Punk go over Cena, but then post-match, to have Alberto DelRio cash in, and becomes WWE champion, with the Chicago crowd goes insane for stealing Punk’s hometown guy moment of glory from him.

Many were also afraid we’d get the standard Super Cena comeback with Punk jobbed out clean.

Yup, the Chicago crowd went insane…but not in the way anyone expected.

As of right now, CM Punk walked out with the WWE belt.

Will tonight feature some sort of swerve on RAW where McMahon strips him of the title “for conduct unbecoming a champion”…since Punk WAS still technically under contract for an hour plus after the PPV ended? Or will Vince McMahon do the unthinkable, and actually let Punk walk out with the WWE belt…and work some indies or Japan for a month or two?

The beautiful thing is…we have absolutely NO IDEA AT ALL. We actually have a reason to watch RAW tonight.

And as a wrestling fan, that’s a great feeling to have for once.

Until next time.

I haven’t looked forward to a RAW this bad since … i dunno the Attitude Era dare i say

This is an excellent chance for Vince to get rid of that ridiculous-looking no-longer-spinning title belt thingie. New belt, new era. Until Punk returns.
