WWE CAPITOL PUNISHMENT: Opening moments of the live PPV

WWE Capitol Punishment PPV
June 19, 2011
Washington, D.C.
Report by: Adam Martin of

The WWE opening promo plays.

A video package runs focusing on R-Truth saying the WWE Universe or all of the “Little Jimmys” follow WWE Champion John Cena blindly. Truth in the promo said it is ironic we are coming to everyone live from Washington, D.C. – the birthplace of lies and conspiracy. The promo ends with R-Truth saying, “Tonight…the Truth…will set me free.”

A graphic opening hits welcoming us to Capitol Punishment. We go live to the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. where a display of pyro goes off on a huge set.

WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston is out first to kick off the show.

* Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE United States Championship is up first to kick off the show.
