~ Heavyweight Neil “Old Skool” Wain (9-3) has been added to BAMMA 6 fight card in a bout against Marcin “Doktor” Bartkiewicz (3-3). The event is set for the Wembley Arena in London, England on Saturday. Wain competed at UFC 89 back in 2008 where he was TKO’d by UFC 131 headliner Shane Carwin in the first round.
~ Spike TV debuts “Countdown to UFC 131″ on June 8 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. UFC 131 takes place June 11 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The pay-per-view event features a heavyweight tilt between top contenders Dos Santos and Carwin. Replays of “Countdown to UFC 131″ air June 9 at 11 p.m. ET/PT and June 11 at 6 p.m. ET. Additional dates and TV outlets will be announced in the coming weeks.
~ Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis (14-5, 1 No-Contest) will face up-and-coming Canadian prospect Jordan Mein (21-7) in the main event of the June 10 installment of its Score Fighting Series at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. UFC middleweight veterans Joe Doerksen & Luigi Fioravanti will also compete on the card.
~ A training injury has forced lightweight Mac Danzig out of next month’s UFC 131 event where he was set to face Donald Cerrone (14-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC). Cerrone will remain on the card as a new opponent will be named.
~ A welterweight bout between top 10 contenders Mike Pierce (12-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Johny Hendricks (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is set for the main card of UFC 133: Evans vs. Davis. UFC 133 takes place Aug. 6 in Philadelphia.
