Hip hop star getting involved in wrestling



Grandmaster Melle Mel (Melvin Glover, who you might remember from Chaka Khan’s 80’s hit “I Feel For You”) has been added as a coach for the Urban Wrestling Federation. Melle Mel is a pioneer hip hop star, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

    He and another rapper, Van Silk, should form a tag team. I remember them doing a series of “Crack is Wack” spots for WNBC-TV CH.4 in 1986. “So Don’t Do It!”

    He appear once in TNA PPV singing the theme song of it if I’m not mistaken. It was suppose to be Ice-T, but he couldn’t appear so they replace him with Melle Mel, in which he didn’t do anything but posing in the ring.
