The Rock’s latest movie, Fast Five, with co-stars Vin Diesel and Paul
Walker pulled in $3.8 million from 1,132 theaters from just the midnight
screenings, making it the Universal’s highest ever midnight take. Estimates
for the opening weekend are in the range of $60-$70 million for the fifth
installment in The Fast and Furious franchise. The movie is on track to
score this year’s best domestic opening so far as it rolls out to a total of
3,643 theaters nationwide today.
