There have been three Wrestlemanias on this day, aswell as one WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony!

In 1990, Wrestlemania VI was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was the first Mania to be held outside of the US. In attendance were a young Christian, Edge and Lance Storm

– Demolition (Ax & Smash) defeat The Colossal Connection (Andre The Giant & Haku) to win the WWF Tag Team Titles
– Brutus Beefcake defeats Mr Perfect
– Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire defeat Randy Savage & Sensational Sherri
– Ted DiBiase defeats Jake Roberts by countout to retain the Million Dollar Championship
– The Ultimate Warrior defeats Hulk Hogan in a Champion vs Champion Match to retain the WWF Intercontinental Title and win the WWF Title

In 2001, Wrestlemania X-Seven was held in Houston, Texas. This event is often cited as the conclusion of the Attitude Era

– Chris Jericho defeats William Regal to retain the WWF Intercontinental Title
– Kane defeats Raven & The Big Show in a Triple Threat Hardcore Match to win the WWF Hardcore Title
– Eddie Guerrero defeats Test to win the WWF European Title
– Kurt Angle defeats Chris Benoit
– Chyna defeats Ivory to win the WWF Womens Title
– Shane McMahon defeats Vince McMahon in a Street Fight with Mick Foley as special guest referee
– Edge & Christian defeats The Dudley Boyz & The Hardy Boyz in a TLC Match to win the WWF Tag Team Titles
– The Iron Sheik wins a 20-man Gimmick Battle Royal
– The Undertaker defeats Triple H
– Steve Austin defeats The Rock in a No-DQ Match to win the WWF Title

In 2006, the WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony is held in Rosemont, Illinois. The class of 2006 are:

– Gene Okerlund
– The Blackjacks, Lanza & Mulligan
– Sensational Sherri
– Verne Gagne
– Tony Atlas
– William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry

In 2007, Wrestlemania 23 was held in Detroit, Michigan. It broke several records, becoming the highest grossing one-day event in WWE and indeed the whole of North American wrestling history (around $5.4 million in ticket sales) and also broke the record for the biggest Mania buyrate, with around 1.2 million buys.

– Chris Benoit defeats MVP to retain the WWE United States Title
– The Undertaker defeats Batista to win the World Heavyweight Title
– The ECW Originals (Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Sabu & Rob Van Dam) defeated The New Breed (Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker & Kevin Thorn) in an 8-Man Tag Team Match
– Bobby Lashley (for Donald Trump) defeats Umaga (for Vince McMahon) in the Battle Of The Billionaires, forcing Vince McMahon to have his head shaved
– Melina defeats Ashley Massaro in a Lumberjill Match to retain the WWE Womens Title
– John Cena defeats Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Title

Title Changes

1979 – Ric Flair defeats Ricky Steamboat to win the NWA Mid-Atlantic United States Title

1980 – Masked Superstar wins a tournament to win the vacant NWA Television Title

1996 – on Raw, Goldust defeats Savio Vega to win the vacant WWF Intercontinental Title

2002 – on Raw, Bubba Ray Dudley defeats Raven to win the WWF Hardcore Title
