~ 10 days ago, UFC heavyweight veteran Josh “Heavy” Hendricks dropped his record to 18-7 when he suffered a TKO (Doctor Stoppage) loss at 1:57 of the first round against Dan Spohn. The bout was the main event of NAAFS- Caged Fury 14 held in Cleveland, Ohio. Hendricks loss in his only appearance in the Octagon when he suffered a KO defeat to Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 91 back on November 15, 2008.

~ Weigh-ins for this month’s “UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones” event take place Friday, March 18, at AmeriHealth Pavilion at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell hosts a special Q&A session UFC Fight Club members prior to the weigh-ins. Doors to the festivities open to members of the UFC Fight Club, the promotion’s official fan club, at 1 p.m. ET. Liddell hits the stage for the Q&A at 2 p.m. ET. UFC champions Frankie Edgar and Dominick Cruz, as well as fan-favorite contender Stephan Bonnar, will sign autographs for the general public beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
~ Longtime MMA veteran Dennis Hallman (42-13-2 MMA, 3-4 UFC) has been forced to withdraw from March’s UFC Fight Night 24 event. His opponent T.J. Waldburger (13-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will still remain on the card.
~ Former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres (39-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) next meets fellow WEC bantamweight Brad Pickett (20-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC 130. UFC 130 takes place May 28 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It’s the UFC’s latest Memorial Day weekend show based in Sin City.
