~ Fourteen of the 15 fighters who underwent drug testing at January’s UFC 125 event tested clean for performance-enhancing drugs and recreational/drugs of abuse. However, one unnamed contestant’s sample has yet to be cleared. The NSAC tested both Edgar and Maynard, as well as Chris Leben, Brian Stann, Brandon Vera, Phil Baroni, Brad Tavares, Jeremy Stephens, Dustin Poirier, Diego Nunes, Daniel Roberts, Jacon Volkmann, Dong Hyun Kim and Clay Guida. Those test results were all declared negative.

~ There will be at least one “Cupcake” in Bellator Fighting Championships’ upcoming season-four lightweight tournament. Bellator officials on Wednesday announced the addition of undefeated Lloyd “Cupcake” Woodard (10-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) to the field. The eight-man tourney kicks off in March and airs live on MTV2 as part of the 12-week season.
~ A middleweight scrap pitting Alex Makhonin (8-1) against 2 time UFC veteran Xavier Foupa-Pokam (21-15) is set for the main card of BAMMA 5 on February 26 in Manchester, England. Once-beaten in nearly three years of professional competition, Makhonin rides a seven-fight win streak into his contest with “Professor X.”
~ A bout is now official for the UFC 130 preliminary card: heavyweight Stefan Struve (21-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) vs. Travis Browne (10-0-1 MMA, 1-0-1 UFC). The event airs on May 28 on Pay Per View from Las Vegas, Nevada.
