Next TNA Champion: Brother Cutting Apparatus Cage.
WOW Shocker wasn’t expecting Edge
noooooooooooo!!! edge cant leave!!
Edge had a good run…14 years is a great run with them.
Shocker. They’ve made him a 10 time world champion so I don’t imagine he is pissed off. I’m guessing he wants to leave wrestling at the top of his game and go on to Hollywood, much like the The Rock.
Go to TNA <3
EDGEHEADS UNITE
Danny-
Why would Edge go from top of the game to bottom of the lake in terms of wrestling promotions?
At this point, I do not blame Edge in the slightest. The past few years, he’s been doing the same formula to the point of where you feel like you’re watching a remake.
He gets with a chick, wins the World Title, loses it, turns face or heel, and screws with the new Champion. He then leaves the woman for cheating… rather, rinse, and repeat.
No amount of money is worth being creatively stuck the rest of your life.
6 to 8 months ago I remember reading an article online from an interview with Edge. He stated that his career was winding down and he was looking to retire. He also mentioned his body can only take so much more abuse. Hardly a shocker based on that.
Take a break. Much deserved.
He’s had a great run and deserves to go out at the top of his game. He’s smart to not want to push it and instead leave at the right time. Best of luck to him in whatever he does post-WWE, and for now, us wrestling fans can enjoy the rest of Edge’s career until it finally does wind down.
Agree with michael. God the wwe needs to make new stars and they need to stop hotshotting them to the top too fast. Or there will be no more players of edges class
Thank goodness, I honestly get really tired when I see him, theres nothing that can save his stale character, lawls!
And nothing was lost.
Copeland should NEVER have been elevated past mid-card status. 10x champion with the total combined reign of less than a single true main event star’s championship reign.
Lazy WWE and their inability to create new product leads to bland, uninteresting guys like Edge being hot-shotted and supported by an entire company and creative staff as if there very lives depended on it.
He’s clearly worn down from his career. You can see it a good chunk of the time in his face. I wonder if he will focus on outside wrestling endeavors or go for a lighter schedule at TNA, where he can finally wrestle as Adam Copeland, something he’s wanted for awhile.
a little harsh castle but i do agree to some extent. if this was 2005-2007 this would be a big deal. the rated r superstar gimmick was entertaining when it was pushed hard. it was in your face, racy, and created EXTREME internet buzz. he had potential, scratch that, he WAS a great heel. unfortunately (like baseball) when steroids were being cracked down on his performance went south. look at some matches (e.g. against shawn michaels at the royal rumble) he had a great look. look at some of his matches since 09, hard to tell its the same guy.
Unless They Dont Do A Great New Story With Him (Like Drop This Rated R Superstar Gimmick) I Think Hew Will Be Gone Then..
I am a HUGEE Adam Copeland fan……to the point where my username at various sites is Adam_Copeland2!
Been following his career for 14 years, always believed in him…..Thus, this is sooo hard for me. I believe the reason he wants to leave is clear. WWE cannot utilize the Rated R superstar to his full potential, never did, and never will do given the current path they are following. Feel kinda sorry for the guy….this is what he gets after dedicating 16 yrs to a company and in return he cannot be he face of the company but plays second fiddle to John Cena???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Edge, the last string of guys left from the WWE, had so much potential. He would’ve been 10 times bigger than he is now if he had a single main-event feud during the attitude era! Alas, he didn’t but still was loyal to the company! And his in-ring dedication is greater than anything Cena will ever come up with! A truly sad day in wrestling….at least for me!
Aaaaand the first candidate for WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2013 has just been spoiled.
I’m with Fahir. I’m disappointed that we’ll never actually get to SEE “Rated R” Adam Copeland. The WWE went in the opposite direction instead and the product suffers for it. Like Matt said, I wish him luck in whatever he future endeavors, and I hope they’ll have the balls to continue to create new stars without burning them out.
As much as I don’t want to see Edge leave, I’m not really surprised based on gossip from the net a while back. However, that doesn’t mean I’m going to like it. It sucks that so many of the guys I like are gone or going.
Fahim, I disagree with you. I think Edge is a huge name in the WWE. He is one of those guys that doesn’t need a title to be somewhere, along with HBK, HHH, Cena, Orton, Undertaker, Jericho and Kane. Those guys can come out every week, do there thing, and the fans will still go crazy – good or bad – for them. It will be many more years before people like Ziggler, McIntyre, or Morrison ever reach that level. The only thing I feel we missed out on was a great run with Edge and Jericho as a tag team.
it would be a shame if Edge leaves
@ Michele……yeah I guess Edge has done everything….but, some things to cap off the career of a legend is missing….like a nostalgic feud with Christian and/or a tag team run with Jericho!
