Hardy to plead guilty on drug charges (Updated)

By Brian Fritz

Current TNA Wrestling World Champion Jeff Hardy will plead guilty on felony drug charges next month according to a Fayetteville Observer report.

– A few notes from Fritz’s article

* Hardy’s lawyer James Van Camp told a judge earlier this month at a court appearance that his client would plead guilty to the charges at the next hearing, which is scheduled for January 20th.

* TNA Wrestling management has yet to comment on this situation.

* Despite being the TNA champion, Hardy is not currently booked for the 1/9 TNA Genesis PPV.

    Probably a plea-bargain….

  4. Mike says:

Hope he gets jail time just like the rest of us would get.

  5. Cat says:

If he’s pleading guilty, I can assure you he’s getting off easy. Didn’t think they’d favor the celebrity status of a pro wrestler, but I may be mistaken.

  6. N. Gaijin says:

Big surprise there, I wouldn’t doubt Jeff agreed to become a CI because he’s so devoted to being champ, you know?

Maybe he can surprise us even more by no-showing in another month or two and getting caught playing chemist in his “down time”.

  7. Philip says:

Why did TNA take such a big chance on him anyway? They knew this could/would happen. These charges are not likely to be swept under the rug that easily.

  8. Adman says:

I was a huge Jeff Hardy mark, but the past year and a half has been a major let down. I hope this, accompanied with the life change of being a dad, will change him for the better.

  9. Agent Cooper says:

I seriously doubt he would have plead guilty if it included any serious jail time.
