Survivor Series PPV Previews and Predictions
Nov 20, 2010 - by Steve Gerweck
Hi all, this is Joseph Nocera with my preview and predictions for one of WWE biggest pay-per-views, Survivor Series. The card looks very interesting and it looks to be a good PPV. Let’s get straight into the preview:
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: RANDY ORTON VS. WADE BARRETT (WITH JOHN CENA AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE)
This looks to be a very interesting match. These two men faced each other at Bragging Rights, with John Cena costing Barrett the WWE title. There has been a lot of hype on this match, especially with John Cena as the guest referee. I think that this match will be the last match on the show. Cena has been talking a lot over the last couple of weeks about the stipulations that are involved in the match, where if Barrett wins, Cena can leave Nexus, but if Orton wins, Cena is fired. Plus, now another stipulation has been added where the only way to win is by pinfall or submission, wit no countouts and no disqualifications. I think that this stipulation will affect the match in a big way. I think that Cena will call the match down the middle, but Wade Barrett will pin Orton cleanly and we will see a new WWE Champion.
My Prediction: Wade Barrett win the WWE Championship
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: KANE VS. EDGE
I think that this match will take place mid-way through the event. Edge has a lot of momentum heading into the event, getting the better of Kane over the last 3 weeks on Smackdown. Edge won the number one contendership by defeating Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio in a 3-way match. Although Edge has momentum over what has happened on Smackdown Kane has had momentum from the last 3 PPVs. He has defeated Undertaker 3 times, in a No Holds Barred Match at Night of Champions, In a Hell in a Cell match at the Hell in a Cell PPV, plus the win over the Deadman in the Buried Alive Match at Bragging Rights. I think that this match will be one of the best of the night, with Kane coming out on top retaining the World Heavyweight Title.
My Prediction: Kane retains the World Heavyweight Championship
WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP HANDICAP MATCH: LAYCOOL (MICHELLE MCCOOL AND LAYLA) VS. NATAYLA
I don’t expect this match to take up a lot of time of the PPV. These 3 women have had matches on the last two pay-per-views, Natayla won at Hell in a Cell via DQ, then Layla picking up the victory at Bragging Rights. But I would love to see Natayla win the championship. Laycool have had WWE gold since lat April, and I think it is time that they start walking around without gold. I think it is time that Natayla gets some gold.
My Prediction: Natayla wins the WWE Unified Divas Championship
SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION 5 VS. 5 TAG TEAM MATCH: TEAM MYSTERIO (REY MYSTERIO, BIG SHOW, CHRIS MASTERS, MVP AND KOFI KINGSTON) VS TEAM DEL RIO (ALBERTO DEL RIO, CODY RHODES, TYLER REKS, DREW MCINTYRE AND JACK SWAGGER)
I expect this match to be the best of the night. Both teams are stacked with great talent. Team Mysterio has 28 championships in their history, while Team Del Rio is less experienced with only 7 championships. I think this match also will be the longest match on the card. All 10 men are really good wrestlers. I think that a big surprise in this match will be Chris Masters. I think WWE will give him a push in the future and this could be where it starts. Team Mysterio has the advantage and momentum after Big Show and Rey Mysterio won the battle royal on Smackdown. I think Mysterio will lead his team to victory on Sunday.
My Prediction: Team Mysterio will win the 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series Match
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: NEXUS (JUSTIN GABRIEL AND HEATH SLATER) VS. VLADIMIR KOZLOV AND SANTINO MARELLA
This match I think will be very unique. This match will probably feature some good wrestling and some comedy moments. Gabriel and Slater have not had the titles for that long, and I think that they will retain the Tag Team Championship. I could see Santino and Kozlov possibly picking up a victory, but in my opinion, it is highly unlikely. Nexus will keep the gold.
My Prediction: Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel retain the WWE Tag Team Championship
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. KAVAL
This match will be great. Two great wrestlers going at it for the Intercontinental Championship. WWE has not done much with Kaval since he won season 2 of NXT. He picked up his first win on Smackdown over Ziggler this past week, then announced that he will cash in his PPV Championship match against Dolph at Survivor Series. Ziggler has had a good run so far as the champion and I think tat it will continue. I see Kaval winning the title in the future, but I don’t see it happening yet. Ziggler will retain the IC title at Survivor Series.
My Prediction: Dolph Ziggler retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship
SHEAMUS VS. JOHN MORRISON
I think this match will be the typical wrestling match, Morrison gets the early advantage, Sheamus dominates, then Morrsion comes back. But I think that the match will still be good. Morrsion has had a lot of momentum heading into the match, getting the better of the Irishmen over the last couple of weeks, but Sheamus sent Morrison a message this week on Raw when he kicked Morrison in the head in front of Jerry Brisco and Arn Anderson. This match will be good, with Morrison picking up the victory.
My Prediction: John Morrison picks up a big victory
Overall, Survivor Series looks like a good PPV, not the best but then again, not the worst. There will be a good variety of different matches. I hope you are all looking forward to Survivor Series as much as I am. If you want to ask me any questions, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for reading.
WWE Survivor Series 2010 Preview and prediction
It’s the 24th edition of this PPV, second longest running event behind WrestleMania, and only one match is really put up front: the WWE Championship match. But before commenting on that match let’s preview the others confrontation on the card. Right now, 7 matches have been announced. They could had Bryan vs., Dibiase right before the show.
Let’s start with non-title match
John Morrison vs. Sheamus
With Sheamus losing is main event status to Barrett, the WWE needed someone to confront the “bully” before HHH return in January 2011. So, Morrison jumps in with the protector role of Santino Marella. Sheamus should win to keep him hot for the return of The Game but my heart goes with Morrison to continue this rivalry until TLC.
WINNER: John Morrison
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team match
Team Mysterio(w/Show, Masters, MVP & Kingston) vs. Team Del Rio(w/Reks, Rhodes, McIntyre & Swagger)
Ok, they put that match up to give us a traditional Elimination tag team match at Survivor Series. But, we all know that it should be Del Rio vs. Mysterio. But little Rey doesn’t seem 100 % so they put him in that kind of match to protect him. I love the way they elevate Del Rio but I can’t wait to see him fight in 1 vs. 1 contest with Rey.
WINNER: Team Mysterio
Now with the title matches.
WWE Tag Team Championship
Heath Slater / Justin Gabriel (c) vs. Santino Marella / Vladimir Kozlov
Ok, Hart Dynasty no longer exist (damn Tyson Kidd), Uso’s going nowhere, Rhodes/McIntyre not available, they give us this joke of a match. Sorry but even if you hate Nexus, you gotta love Gabriel’s 450. Just for that, I’ll give them the win.
WINNER: Slater/Gabriel retain the WWE Tag Team Championship
Divas Championship: 2 on 1 handicap match
McCool (c) & Layla (c) vs. Natalya
Please give the belt to Natalya so we can have good women match between her and Beth or Melina, Eve or Gail Kim. Even the possibility of Lita returning could give us great fight. The Self-professed “Co-Divas Champions are going down.
WINNER AND NEW DIVAS CHAMPION: Natalya Neidhart
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kaval
This contest was added on Friday and on paper it looks interesting. Ziggler gave us some good performance against Daniel Bryan and this match vs. Kaval should give us an ok match. Could this be a show stealer?
WINNER: Ziggler retain the IC Championship
World Heavyweight Championship
Kane (c) vs. Edge
We all know that if the Undertaker was going to win the belt if it was not for the shoulder injury. So Edge will try to end the devil’s favorite son this Sunday. Will Paul Bearer be there to help Kane. Sorry Edge but even without Paul, Kane will retain, but I see a TLC match at….oh yeah at TLC on December 19th.
WINNER: Kane retain the World Heavyweight Championship
WWE Championship: Free or Fired
No DQ, No Count-out, Nexus is barred from ringside
Randy Orton (c) vs. Wade Barrett with John Cena has the special referee
The belt can change hand only on a submission or a pin and Nexus is barred from ringside, but who cares about that in this match. The only thing we want to know is what John Cena will do. Well, Cena will do the right thing ………………….for him……….. and that’s count Randy Orton shoulders on the mat 1, 2, 3 and finally be free. Sadly for Orton fans but Nexus leader Wade Barrett will win the WWE title.
WINNER AND NEW WWE CHAMPION: Wade Barrett
Morrison over Sheamus
Team Mysterio over Team Del Rio
Nexus over Marella/Kozlov
Natalya over Lay-Cool (new champ)
Ziggler over Kaval
Kane over Edge
Barrett over Orton (new champ)
Have a great night and I’ll see you for TLC.
