~ Despite a last-minute cancellation of their UFC 122 co-main event, Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara both received pay for the fight. UFC president Dana White confirmed the payouts. According to the UFC boss, Sakara, who pulled out of the fight with flu-like symptoms, earned his show money. Rivera got even more.
~ A featherweight matchup between Pablo Garza (9-1 MMA, 0-1 WEC) and Fredson Paixao (10-3 MMA, 2-1 WEC) is a go for The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale on December 4. The preliminary card bout takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
~ A lightweight battle of Ricardo Lamas (9-1 MMA, 4-1 WEC) vs. Yuri Alcantar (20-3 MMA, 0-0 WEC) is signed for the preliminary portion of WEC 53. WEC 53 takes place at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona and airs on Versus.
~ A welterweight bout between Greg Soto (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Daniel “Ninja” Roberts (11-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is set for UFC 125. Roberts vs. Soto will be part of the untelevised preliminary card. UFC 125 takes place Jan. 1 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and the night’s main card airs on pay-per-view.
~ A featherweight bout between WEC fighters Mark Hominick (19-8 MMA, 3-2 WEC) and George Roop (11-6-1 MMA, 1-1-1 WEC) is official for January’s “UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fight for the Troops 2″ event. UFC Fight Night 23 is going to take place in Fort Hood in Texas.
