– Night of Champions begins with a video package stating all 7 WWE Championships will be defended tonight. The video highlights the main event feuds for the WWE and World Championships.

– Pyro followed by Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler & Matt Striker welcoming us to the show.

(1) Intercontinental Championship – Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero & Kaitlyn vs. Kofi Kingston – if Ziggler is counted out or disqualified, he loses the championship
Vickie cuts off Tony Chimel to introduce Ziggler herself. Ziggler is knocked to the outside early, Vickie sends Kaitlyn to the back after she attempts to check on Vickie’s “boyfriend”. The fans get behind Kofi as Ziggler has control; Vickie is screaming orders at ringside. Ziggler is applying several submission moves to wear Kofi down; Kofi finally gains the advantage after hitting a kick to the head and a high cross body. Kofi sets up Trouble in Paradise, Ziggler avoids and attempts the Sleeper hold, Kofi rolls through it and hits the SOS and goes for the pin, Ziggler gets his foot on the rope before the three count. On the outside Kofi is wearing Ziggler down, the referee is up to an 8 count, Kofi rolls Ziggler back in the ring and goes for a cover, Ziggler kicks out. Ziggler now has the Sleeper hold fully applied, Kofi forces his way out of the hold and applies his own Sleeper, Ziggler escapes. Vickie goes to slap Kofi, Ziggler stops her, in the meantime Kofi goes for Trouble in Paradise, Ziggler moves resulting on Kofi hanging himself on the top rope, Ziggler then hits the ZigZag to pick up the victory and retain his title.

– Backstage Todd Grisham interviews Edge on his strategy in the six-pack challenge. He says Todd should be asking the other competitors how they plan on defeating Edge, he says this kind of situation suits him as he is the ultimate opportunist, he says he shocks the world, and tonight, he will do it again.
