8/9/1976—Kevin von Erich makes his pro wrestling debut, in World Class Championship Wrestling.
8/9/1980—highlights from WWF “Showdown at Shea”
-Tatsumi Fujinami defeats Chavo Guerrero, Sr, to retain the WWF Junior Heavyweight Championship.
-Tony Atlas defeats Intercontinental Champion Ken Patera, by countout. Patera retains the title.
-WWF Champion Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales win the Tag Team Championship, defeating The Wild Samoans.
-Bruno Sammartino defeats Larry Zbyszko, in a steel cage match (considered to be best match of 1980).
8/9/1986—Owen Hart and Ben Basasarb win the Stampede International Tag Team Title, defeating Duke Myers and Kerry Brown.
8/9/1997—highlights from 1997 WCW “Road Wild.”
-Alex Wright defeats Chris Jericho, to retain the Cruiserweight Championship.
-The Steiner Brothers defeat Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, by DQ. Hall and Nash retain the titles.
-Hollywood Hogan defeats Lex Luger, to become the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Hogan was assisted by Dennis Rodman, who was posing as Sting.
8/9/1997—Sabu defeats Terry Funk, to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship (barbed wire match).
8/9/1999—Chris Jericho makes his WWF debut, interrupting The Rock, who was in the ring shooting a promo.
8/9/2001—the original “Smackdown” set is used for the final time (remember the Ovaltron?). Chris Jericho is gored by Rhyno, destroying part of the set. Also, DDP and Kanyon defeat The Acolytes, to win the WWF Tag Team Championship.
