8/5/1957—Jackie and Don Fargo defeat Corsica Joe and Corsica Jean, to win the NWA World Tag Team Championship (Mid-America version).

8/5/1958—Bill Longson defeats Fritz von Erich, to win the vacant NWA Texas Hardcore Championship.

8/5/1969—the NWA American Heavyweight Championship is held up after a match between champion Fritz von Erich and Johnny Valentine. The title would be vacant for two months.

8/5/1988—Iceman Parsons defeats Kevin von Erich, to win the NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship.

8/5/1991—the tag team of Dustin Rhodes (aka Goldust), Tom Zenk, and Big Josh win the WCW World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, defeating The Fabulous Freebirds.

8/5/1996—Kevin Kelly is added as a third commentator for “Monday Night Raw,” joining Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.

8/5/2008—Tazz is commentator for ECW for the final time. He would be replaced by Matt Striker the following week.
