8/2/1992—Ron Simmons defeats Big Van Vader, to become the first African-American WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

8/2/1998—WWF “Sunday Night Heat” debuts on the USA Network.

8/2/1999—Monday Night War Ratings:  WWF “Raw Is War” gets a 5.9 rating, while WCW “Nitro” scores a 3.1 rating.

8/2/2000—WWF Champion “The Rock” gives a speech at the Republican National Convention.

8/2/2005—WWE “Raw” airs it’s 636th episode, passing “Gunsmoke” for the most original episodes of any weekly ficitional program.

8/2/2008—Brent Albright defeats Adam Pearce, to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, at Death Before Dishonor VI.
