– The WWE promo hits.
– A video package runs highlighting various WWE titles and then focuses on Edge vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Title and Triple H vs. John Cena for the WWE Title.
– A graphic opening then hits welcoming us to Night of Champions. We go live to the American Airlines Center in Dallas where a series of pyro goes off. Jim Ross welcomes us to the show and then introduces his new broadcast partner Mick Foley.
– WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison and The Miz are on their way out to the ring to kick off the first championship match of the night.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match
John Morrison & The Miz (c’s) vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle

The bell rings and we start off with Morrison and Finlay. Lock up and Finlay translates to a headlock followed by a quick shoulder block. Finlay with a big uppercut on Morrison. Finlay levels Morrison with a big clothesline, cover, but only a two count. Finlay with a big scoop slam on Morrison and then drops a quick knee. Finlay goes to work on the neck of Morrison, attempts a shot in the corner, but Morrison counters and throws Finlay head first off the corner. Morrison springboards over the top rope, but he lands on the ring apron as Finlay takes him out. Miz tries to take out Hornswoggle, but Finlay goes after him. This allows Morrison to come back and take out Finlay. Morrison and Miz then chase down Hornswoggle, throw him into the ring and he takes his coat off. He throws it at Morrison and shows he is ready to fight. Finlay runs in and cleans house. Finlay throws Hornswoggle into both Morrison and Miz and both hit a double splash on both. They showed a replay of Hornswoggle’s splash that was very entertaining to Foley saying he got more height than he could in his days in the ring.

Morrison with a quick dropkick to Finlay that grounds him allowing Morrison to apply a submission. Lots of quick double-team work by Morrison and Miz on Finlay. Finlay fires back with an atomic drop on Miz, tags in Miz and gives him a tilt-a-whirl head scissors followed by a Stunner! Hornswoggle with a leaping bulldog and Foley is laughing hard. The crowd gets behind Hornswoggle when Hornswoggle goes off the ropes and Morrison kicks him right in the back to get some big heat. Miz throws Hornswoggle down and slaps him over the back of the head. Finlay tries to get involved, but the referee holds him back. JR and Foley talk about Morrison and Miz being school yard bullies. Morrison launches Hornswoggle into the corner. Hornswoggle then starts fighting back with big right hands, but Miz levels him with a clothesline before he can tag in Finlay. Miz sets Hornswoggle up in the corner, attempts a body splash, but Hornswoggle moves. Morrison prevents a tag to Finlay and starts slapping Hornswoggle. Morrison puts Hornswoggle on his shoulders, Hornswoggle jumps off and tags in Finlay. Finlay gets the tag and cleans house on Morrison and Miz.

Finlay with a big powerslam on Morrison, cover, but only a two count. Finlay with a kick in the corner and a big dropkick off the corner as well on Morrison. Another cover, but only a two count. Finlay takes out Miz when Miz hits the ring. Finlay gets Morrison up and connects with the Celtic Cross. Hornswoggle is up top, Morrison gets to his feet when Miz takes out Finlay and Morrison slams him on the mat with force from the top. Morrison hooks the leg on Hornswoggle and gets the pinfall.

Winners & STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: John Morrison & The Miz

After the match, John Morrison and The Miz celebrate retaining the WWE Tag Team Titles. Finlay also checks on Hornswoggle who is still recovering after the drop from the top rope.

– Jim Ross and Mick Foley pass it on to Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler at ringside. Cole brings up how Triple H and John Cena will be wrestling for the first time in over two years. Footage is shown from WrestleMania 22 in 2006 when John Cena defeated Triple H to retain the WWE Championship. Cole also mentions that WWE Champion Triple H is now part of the Smackdown brand after the WWE Draft and that Cena must beat him to bring the title back to Raw. They are holding a text vote tonight asking if it will be John Cena or Batista bringing a respective WWE world title back to the Raw brand.

WWE United States Championship Match
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero w/ Bam Neely

Big reaction for Matt Hardy tonight in Dallas. The bell rings and Chavo gets a quick rollup on Matt that results in Matt quickly kicking out. Matt with a headlock on Chavo, shoulder block after coming off the ropes and Chavo slowly gets to his feet and claps for Matt. Chavo attempts a takedown, Matt dodges, but Chavo gets in a headlock and takes down Matt. Matt with a clothesline in the corner on Chavo followed by a scoop slam and elbow drop. Chavo fights back with a shot to the stomach, but Matt flips him over his head with a big back body drop. Another clothesline in the corner on Chavo, but Chavo counters a bulldog attempt and drops elbows on the leg of Matt. Chavo drops the leg of Matt over the bottom rope, leaps over the top rope and drops his body over it with force. Chavo then throws Matt’s leg against the steel ring post as well. Chavo distracts the referee and this allows Bam Neely to throw Matt’s leg against the ring post as well. Chavo with a cover, but Matt kicks out. Chavo then goes back to work on Matt’s knee while also dropping a few elbows to the head as Matt tries to fight out of it.

Matt tries to fight out kicking Chavo in the back. Chavo breaks the hold, Matt limps to the ropes and Chavo starts kicking his legs. The two exchange right hands, headlock by Matt and then quickly into a bulldog. Cover by Matt and Chavo kicks out before the one count. Chavo then begins kicking the left leg of Matt and then goes back to work applying a submission on the leg. Matt fights out of the submission sending Chavo outside through the ropes. Chavo then drops Matt’s head off the top rope. Chavo attempts a frog splash, Matt moves and then levels Chavo with a big shoulder block/clothesline. More right hands exchanged between the two and Matt gets the better of it. Another clothesline and elbow drop combination on Chavo by Matt who is limping still. Matt attempts a Side Effect, but Chavo fights out of it with a few elbows. Matt flips Chavo over his back and then connects with a Side Effect. Pinfall attempt, but Chavo kicks out after two. Matt on the second rope, jumps and connects with an elbow to the head. Cover by Matt and another two count. Chavo throws Matt into the corner and Matt takes him out with an elbow.

Matt is up top, Chavo pulls him down by his legs and then applies a half boston crab. Matt reaches and gets the bottom rope. Chavo breaks the hold and then starts kicking Matt’s leg. Matt counters a suplex attempt by Chavo into a big DDT. Cover by Matt and another nearfall. Matt gets to his feet calling for a Twist of Fate. Chavo counters, rolls through and applies another half boston crab on Matt. Matt screams “NO” and reaches for the ropes. Matt eventually gets the bottom rope and Chavo again breaks the hold. Chavo again tries to take him down and Matt kicks him in the back of the head. Chavo with one suplex, two suplexes, attempts a third for the Three Amigos, but Matt hits the Twist of Fate! Matt covers and gets the pinfall to retain his title.

Winner & STILL WWE United States Champion: Matt Hardy

After the match, Matt Hardy grabs the WWE United States Title and holds it high in the air as he puts his arm over the referee who helps him up the ramp. Matt stares down Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely who are both in the ring and can’t believe what just happened.

– NFL Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboy Tony Dorsett is shown in the crowd.
– A video package runs highlighting this past Monday night’s Million Dollar Mania contest that included $100,000 winners and a final $500,000 winner. We then see the stage falling apart and a sign falling on Vince McMahon.

– Mike Adamle and Tazz are back live and they mention a formal statement will be made tomorrow night on Raw regarding the “accident.”

ECW Championship – Triple Threat Match
Kane (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry

They did ring introductions for the challengers The Big Show and Mark Henry and the champion Kane. The bell rings and Kane takes out Henry with a big kick to the face. Kane then starts going after Big Show with right hands. Henry goes for a body splash, Kane moves and Henry takes out Big Show. Kane with a dropkick to the knee of Henry and then takes out Big Show. Big Show then levels Kane with a clothesline. Big Show with a headbutt to Kane. Big Show gets in his boxing stance and throws some rights and lefts to the body of Kane. Kane comes back with a huge DDT off the ropes on Big Show. Cover by Kane and only a two count. Big Show launches Kane over the top rope to the outside. Adamle called his match a scene right out of Jurassic Park (amazing commentary). Big Show and Henry lock up in the ring. They break, circle each other and lock up again. Henry with a headlock on Big Show. Henry attempts a shoulder block, Big Show stays on his feet and shakes his head saying it will take more than that. They lock up again, Big Show with a headlock, Big Show with a shoulder block and that takes down Henry.

Big Show with a HUGE scoop slam on Henry! Big Show starts working on Henry in the corner when some medical trainers run out to attend to Kane who is on one knee and speaking to them. Big Show with a few shots and a headbutt to Henry. Henry attempts a clothesline and Big Show ducks and takes out Henry. Big Show attempts a chokeslam, Henry fights out of it and levels Big Show with a big clothesline that sees Henry go down along with. Kane is back up and he is up on the top rope. Henry is on his feet and Kane takes him out. Kane with an uppercut on Big Show, splash on Henry and splash on Big Show in different corners. Kane attempts this again and Henry gets him in a bearhug. Kane fights out of it with a few shots to the face and Big Show levels Henry with a big boot! Kane and Big Show then give Henry a double-chokeslam. Big Show covers Henry, Kane breaks up the pinfall, Kane covers and Big Show breaks up that pinfall as well. Kane and Big Show begin exchanging kicks and punches. Big Show with a headbutt on Kane. Kane kicks Big Show in the face and then kicks him in the back of the head after that.

Kane is back up on the top rope, jumps, Big Show catches him and connects with a big chokeslam. Big Show covers, but Kane gets a shoulder up just before the three count! Kane sits up, grabs Big Show by the neck, but Big Show drives him into the corner. Big Show lifts up Kane and slams him down with a modified back suplex. Cover by Big Show and another kick out by Kane. Kane sits up, Big Show is up on the top rope, Kane with an uppercut and then Kane suplexes Big Show off the top rope! Henry then splashes Kane, hooks the leg and gets the pinfall to capture the title.

Winner & NEW ECW Champion: Mark Henry

After the match, Mark Henry celebrates as he is handed the ECW Championship. Henry leaves the ring and shows off the ECW Title to the announcers at ringside. They show highlights of the match leading to the finish. Back live, Henry is holding the ECW Title high in the air as he makes his way up the entrance ramp.

– Jim Ross and Mick Foley plug Edge vs. Batista later tonight for the World Heavyweight Title. They mention this will be Batista’s last chance to gain back the World Title.
– Backstage, Eve is with Batista. She asks if Batista will bring the World Heavyweight Title back to Raw. Batista said there is no way he is returning empty handed. He said he will be the man on Monday Night Raw. John Cena walks up and Batista says what’s up. Cena shakes his hand and welcomes him back to Raw. Cena said that is a bold statement. He said Batista must realize that if he wins tonight he may not be the only World Champion. CM Punk walks up and hopes both bring back gold to Raw because his briefcase is getting very heavy.

– World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes were out first to a good reaction. Ted DiBiase Jr. was out next. Lilian Garcia goes to introduce his tag team partner when Ted grabs the mic. He said there is a problem since his partner tonight just texted him and he will be here in about 10 minutes. The referee says they can’t wait any longer. Ted said he doesn’t want to forfeit and promises his partner will be here soon.

World Tag Team Championship Match
Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes (c’s) vs. Ted DiBiase Jr. & a mystery partner

The bell rings and Ted DiBiase Jr. stays on the mic saying he wants Holly in first. Cody then tags in Holly and the bell rings. Cody then grabs Holly, kicks him in the gut and drops him with a DDT. Ted DiBiase Jr. gets back on the mic and introduces the crowd to his tag team partner, Cody Rhodes. Cody tags in Ted, Holly gets to his feet, Ted applies a Million Dollar Dream and then drops Holly back with a big russian leg sweep. Ted covers Holly and gets the pinfall.

Winners & NEW World Tag Team Champions: Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes

After the match, Lilian Garcia announces them as the World Tag Team Champions. Cody walks over and gets on the mic correcting her calling themselves the “NEW” World Tag Team Champions. They show highlights of the start with Cody taking out Holly with a DDT allowing Ted to take out Holly and get the pinfall.

– Todd Grisham is up in a luxury suite with JBL. JBL corrects him saying they are in “his” luxury suite. He said he can’t understand why JBL would not have a match on this pay per view. Grisham said it is becuase he isn’t a champion as the crowd cheers. JBL stares at Grisham and takes the mic from him. He said in a failing economy and Americans are losing their homes, JBL owns his own company and a successful one at that. He talks about owning a huge apartment in New York City and said since Vince McMahon is out of action, he is now the richest person in World Wrestling Entertainment. JBL said that is a champion and a champion at life. He said maybe someone like Mark Cuban can say that. JBL said looking around he doesn’t see champions in Dallas. He insults the Dallas Cowboys saying they choked in the NFL Playoffs. JBL said they choked to the team which is the city of champions, “his” New York Giants (just knowing JBL is actually a Cowboys fan makes his promo even more entertaining). He calls himself Texas’ favorite New Yorker. JBL said as far as having a championship around his waist, it’s not if, but it is when.
– Chris Jericho is out and he gets on the mic. He said he was told to be here tonight because he would be defending his title against a mystery opponent. Jericho said he wasn’t sure who it was, but it won’t be Shawn Michaels. Lance Cade is at ringside. Jericho said Michaels can’t be here tonight because he has some kind of an eye injury. He insults Michaels that it would only be a short plane flight from his home in San Antonio. Jericho said he has missed anniversaries, birthday parties, etc. and even when he was injured he still showed up to wrestle. He calls himself an honest man and promises no matter who it is he will retain his title. Jericho said he isn’t in WWE to “Save Us” anymore and he is here now to save himself. Kofi Kingston’s music hits to cut him off and Jericho smiles.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

The bell rings and here we go. Kingston approaches Jericho with his fists up. Jericho circles Kingston, they lock up, Jericho pushes Kingston to the corner and slaps him. Kingston goes after Jericho in the other corner before it gets broken up. Kingston takes the back of Jericho. Jericho counters that into a headlock takedown. Kingston gets to his feet, elbows Jericho in the gut, but Jericho levels him with a forearm to the head. Jericho with some stiff kicks to the chest of Kingston. Jericho pushes Kingston against the ropes, tries to throw him over the top rope, but Kingston stops himself from going over. Kingston leaps over Jericho a few times and then Jericho bails to recover. Kingston then runs and nails Jericho with a boot to the face through the ropes. Kingston with a springboard splash over the top rope to the outside on Jericho. Kingston throws Jericho back in the ring, jumps off the top rope, connects with a cross-body, but Jericho kicks out after two. Jericho is in the corner, Kingston jumps up, but Jericho dumps him off over the top rope. Jericho goes to the outside and shoulder charges Kingston against the side of the ring.

Jericho tosses Kingston back in the ring and then kicks him in the back. Jericho with some shoulder charges in the corner on Kingston. Jericho with a big irish whip on Kingston into the corner. Kingston rolls to the ring apron and Jericho suplexes him back inside over the top rope. Jericho with a backbreaker on Kingston. Kingston knees Jericho in the head to break it up. Jericho fires back with a huge dropkick to the face on Kingston. Jericho with a knee to the back of Kingston against the ropes. Kingston fights back with some body shots, but Jericho catches Kingston and applies an abdominal stretch. Kingston fights out with a big hip toss on Jericho. Jericho trips up Kingston and he falls to his face against the second rope. Jericho stands over the back of Kingston applying pressure. Jericho puts Kingston up on the top rope and lands a few forearms to the back. Kingston counters a back suplex into a body splash that results in a two count. Kingston with more body shots and then a quick clothesline. Kingston with a dropkick and another forearm takedown. Jericho dodges a body splash by Kingston with a leg takedown that Kingston counters into a close nearfall.

Kingston then hits the double-leg drop on Jericho, but only gets a two count. Kingston with a huracanrana on Jericho, but Jericho again kicks out during a pinfall attempt. Jericho then kicks Kingston right in the ribs. Jericho with a Lionsault on Kingston and then goes for the Walls of Jericho. Jericho gets it locked in when Shawn Michaels jumps over the ring barricade and takes out Lance Cade with Sweet Chin Music. Jericho knocks HBK off the ring apron. This allows Kingston to hit the Trouble in Paradise. Kingston covers Jericho and gets the pinfall!

Winner & NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Kofi Kingston

After the match, Kofi Kingston is handed the WWE Intercontinental Title and celebrates as the fans in Dallas cheer loudly. They show a camera shot of Jericho who has an angry look on his face. Shawn Michaels is still trying to recover after getting knocked off the ring apron. Members of the medical team come out and help Michaels to his feet. Jericho gets to his feet, leaves the ring and starts walking up to Michaels. Referees run out and get in Jericho’s face to stop him. Jericho then gets in a sucker punch on Michaels’ bad eye and Michaels goes down. Michaels rolls around screaming “OH MY GOD” as Jericho looks on. Jerry Lawler goes a great job of describing the pain Michaels must be going through. They show highlights of the match earlier leading to the finish and then Jericho punching Michaels afterwards at ringside. Back live, Michaels is being taken to the back as Jericho heads to the backstage area.

– Backstage, Vickie Guerrero is with her wedding planner. Vickie is picking out flowers for the wedding. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder walk up asking Edge if he is ready. Edge asks them if they saw the fear in Batista’s eyes on Friday. Ryder and Hawkins bring up that it is too bad Triple H is on Smackdown now. Edge asks if they think he needs help to get the job done. He lists his accomplishments and says tonight he will leave Batista beaten and empty handed.
– A Gillette Fusion commercial featuring Vince McMahon and John Cena airs.

WWE Women’s Championship Match
Mickie James (c) vs. Katie Lea Burchill w/ Paul Burchill

The bell rings and Katie quickly takes down Mickie. Another takedown by Katie on Mickie. A third takedown by Katie on Mickie. Mickie then takes down Katie and stays on her. Mickie with a rollup on Katie and Katie kicks out. Mickie with a kick to Katie’s stomach followed by a big monkey flip. Mickie with a jumping takedown on Katie and the another big takedown on Katie. Mickie goes up to the top and Katie bails from the ring. Katie returns to the ring, takes down Mickie, goes for a cover and Mickie kicks out. Mickie with a big dropkick to the face of Katie and Katie again quickly kicks out. Katie rolls to the ring apron, falls off, Mickie recovers and Katie takes her out with a big back suplex. Katie kicks Mickie over the back and then ties her up in the ropes. Mickie with an elbow to the face, attempt leg takedown, but Katie counters and irish whips Mickie’s shoulder into the corner with force. Katie with a snapmare takedown with a knee to the head. Katie goes to work on the shoulder of Mickie applying a submission. Mickie with a few elbows to the face of Katie and a Lou Thesz Press.

Katie drops Mickie’s arm down with force over the ring, covers, but only gets a two count. The referee checks on Mickie to see if she can continue and she says yes. Katie with an irish whip to Mickie. Mickie catches Katie with a kick followed by a huracanrana. Mickie with two clotheslines, kick to the gut, snapmare takedown and sledgehammer to the back. Cover by Mickie and Katie kicks out after two. Katie with an armbar on Mickie. Mickie rolls through but Katie keeps it locked on. Mickie fights out of it finally with an arm drag. Katie then drives Mickie shoulder first into the corner on her bad shoulder. Mickie counters a back suplex into a huge DDT. Cover by Mickie and she gets the pinfall to retain her title.

Winner & STILL WWE Women’s Champion: Mickie James

After the match, Mickie James holds up the WWE Women’s Title in the air still favoring her shoulder. They show a few highlights of the match leading to the finish. Back live, Mickie is continuing to hold her title up in the air.

– The result of the text vote tonight is that 32% of fans think Batista will bring the World Title to Raw. John Cena had 30% of the vote while “both” had 31%.
– A video package runs highlighting the events leading into tonight’s World Heavyweight Championship Match between champion Edge and challenger Batista.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Edge (c) vs. Batista

They did ring introducions for the challenger Batista and champion Edge. The bell rings and they lock up. Batista tosses Edge away with force to the corner. Lock up and Edge with a headlock on Batista. Batista fires back with a shoulder block that levels Edge. Edge retreats to the corner to break it up. Another lock up and Batista throws Edge out of the ring through the ropes. Batista chases Edge down, Edge hits the ring, Batista grabs his leg, Edge kicks him away, Edge attempts a baseball slide, but Batista moves and takes out Edge against the ring barricade. Batista tosses Edge back in the ring, takes him out with a shoulder block, cover, but only a two count. Batista drops his weight over the back of Edge a few times. Batista with an irish whip with force to Edge in the corner. Cover by Batista and Edge kicks out. Batista picks up Edge and connects with a Jackhammer! Cover and Edge kicks out after two. Batista clotheslines Edge over the top rope. Batista goes to the outside with Edge and tosses him back inside. Edge kicks Batista when goes to get in the ring and then sends Batista into the steel ring post with force.

Edge with a baseball slide to Batista that sends Batista flying backwards over the ECW announce table and onto the ground. The referee begins the count, but Batista quickly rolls back in. When he does Edge begins hitting him with numerous kicks. Edge with a body splash to Batista against the ropes. Edge drops an elbow to Batista’s chest and Batista again falls to the outside. Batista with a few shoulder charges to Edge and then some rights as he returns to the ring. Edge trips up Batista and then drops an elbow over the back of his neck. Edge with a swinging neckbreaker on Batista, cover, but only a two count. Edge then applies a headlock on Batista and keeps the action grounded. Edge attempts a rear naked choke, but Batista backs him up into the corner. Batista charges and Edge drops him with a drop toe hold into the corner. Edge with some right hands on Batista. Batista fights back with a few big rights of his own. Edge with a kick and neckbreaker on Batista to bring it back to the ground again. Edge with a quick cover and Batista again kicks out. Edge again goes to the headlock on Batista keeping the action on the ground.

Edge attempts a back neckbreaker, Batista counters, Edge gets Batista into a rollup and gets a close two count. Edge goes up to the top rope. Batista with a right hand that sends him off, but Edge drop Batista’s head off the ropes. Edge charges and Batista takes him out with a clothesline. Batista with a big charge sending Edge into the corner. Batista with a clothesline and then a sidewalk slam that takes out Edge in the middle of the ring. Cover by Batista and Edge barely kicks out after two. Batista levels Edge with a huge Spear, cover…1…2…Edge barely gets a shoulder up. Batista gets Edge ready for the Batista Bomb, Edge counters and then Batista throws down Edge with a big scoop slam. Batista gets Edge up again for the Batista Bomb, Edge counters off and takes out Batista with a huge DDT! Cover by Edge and Batista kicks out. The fans cheer loudly in Dallas. Edge attempts a Spear and Batista takes him out with a big boot. Batista goes up top, jumps, but Edge catches him with a dropkick to the chest. The referee starts the count as both men are down. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder then bring Vickie Guerrero out in her wheelchair.

In the ring, Batista jumps over Edge who attempts a Spear! Batista with a huge spinebuster on Edge, covers, but Vickie pulls the referee out to stop the count. Batista sends Edge into the steel ring post shoulder first. The referee starts the count. At 7, Edge pulls the referee out and levels him with a right hand. Vickie gets on the mic and calls for another referee. Chavo Guerrero’s music hits and he comes out with referee’s shirt on. Vickie claps and then Batista pulls Vickie into the ring. Batista picks up Vickie and throws her on Hawkins, Ryder, Chavo and Neely. Edge then hits the ring and takes out Batista with the World Title. Edge hooks the leg, Chavo slides in and Edge gets the pinfall to retain his title.

Winner & STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Edge

After the match, they put Vickie Guerrero back in her wheelchair and roll her back up the ramp as Edge celebrates with the World Heavyweight Title. Highlights are shown of the match leading to the finish. Back live, Batista is just starting to recover as Edge holds the World Title up in the air. Batista gets to his feet slowly and looks at the fans. He is overheard saying, “I see three Sign Guys.” Sign Guy claps for Batista as he gets to his feet and is helped to the back by the referees.

– A promo for The Great American Bash PPV on July 20 airs.
– Backstage, Todd Grisham gets final thoughts from WWE Champion Triple H. Triple H said he is going to go out there and do what he should have done two years ago. Triple H walks off and heads to the arena.
– A video package airs highlighting the events leading into tonight’s WWE Championship Match between champion Triple H and challenger John Cena. They are building this like it is one of the biggest WWE Title matches of all time.

John Cena got a mixed reaction from the crowd in Dallas. Somewhat of a mixed reaction for Triple H as well. They did ring introductions for the challenger John Cena and the champion Triple H.

The bell rings and here we go. Cena steps forward first and they begin to circle each other. Lock up and Triple H gets the headlock. Triple H with a shoulder block on Cena to take him down. Triple H walks up and stares down Cena who gets up on one knee and stares him down as well. Triple H with another headlock, Cena breaks it up, but Triple H connects with another shoulder block. Triple H blocks a hip toss and connects with one of his own. Triple H with a crotch chop to Cena and the fans cheer loudly. A “YOU CAN’T WRESTLE” chant starts up. Another lock up, Triple H with a headlock and Cena fights out of it showing his strength. Cena with a headlock of his own. Triple H attempts an irish whip, but Cena keeps it locked on and down to the ground. Triple H ties Cena up in the ropes, lands a few elbows and Cena levels Triple H with a shoulder block. Triple H attempts another hip toss and Cena overpowers him with a big clothesline. Cena then mocks Triple H doing a salute to him. Triple H shoves Cena away and Cena tackles Triple H. John Cena with a kick to the gut and quick suplex on Triple H that results in a two count.

Triple H fires back with a kick to Cena’s chest, misses a clotheslines, Cena connects with a flying shoulder block, Cena attempts this again and Triple H moves causing Cena to crash and burn. Cena rolls to the outside and Triple H drives him back first into the ring. Back in the ring, Triple H drives his knee into the spine of Cena. Triple H drops an elbow over the back of Cena and drops another over his ribs. Triple H with a huge irish whip to Cena that causes Cena to bounce off and hit the ring with force. Triple H irish whips Cena with force to the opposite corner as well. Quick cover by Triple H and Cena kicks out. Cena fires back with some right hands and the fans boo every time he does this. Triple H catches Cena with a big boot in the corner and the fans cheer. Triple H jumps off and Cena gets his feet up. Triple H connects with his feet, gets taken down with a shoulder block and then Cena takes him down with his spinning side suplex. Cena calls for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Triple H kicks him in the face and catches Cena with a high knee off the ropes. Triple H with a knee to the face and attempts a Pedigree. Cena counters into a blockbuster off the ropes.

Cena goes up top, jumps and catches Triple H with a big leg drop to the back of the neck. Cena attempts the STFU, but Triple H kicks him away. Triple H misses a clothesline and Cena connects with the spinning side slam again. Cena calls for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, attempts it again and again Triple H connects with a high knee leveling Cena. Triple H with a big spinebuster on Cena. Triple H attempts a Pedigree, Cena counters and sends Triple H over the top rope to the outside. Triple H grabs his knee right after he hits. The referee starts the count, gets to 5 and Triple H rolls in and out to break the count. Cena leaves the ring, chop blocks Triple H’s knee and then lifts him up dropping his knee over the steel steps. Cena then rams Triple H’s knee into the steel ring post and returns to the ring. Cena leaves the ring and again throws Triple H’s leg off the steel ring post. Triple H crawls over and grabs the bottom rope to try and get to his feet. When he does, Cena again chop blocks him and takes him off his feet. Cena drops an elbow over Triple H’s knee and attempts to turn him over.

Cena gets him over onto his stomach and applies the STFU. Triple H reaches and gets the bottom rope to break it up. Triple H counters an FU attempt and connects with the Pedigree. The fans cheer loudly. Triple H hooks the leg…1…2…Cena kicks out! Cena gets Triple H up for the FU and connects when they return to their feet. Cena stalls, hooks the leg…1…2…Triple H kicks out! Both men are down. They get back up at the 8 count. Cena catches Triple H with a stiff right hand. Triple H responds with a stiff right hand of his own. Cena with a right. Triple H with a right. Cena with another right and Triple H with another right. They exchange rights. The fans boo for Cena and cheer for Triple H. Cena with yet another spinning side slam on Triple H after ducking a right hand. Cena calls for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and finally connects on his third attempt. Triple H is up. Cena gets him up, Triple H hangs onto the top rope, falls off, Pedigree attempt, but Cena rolls under and applies the STFU on Triple H! Cena keeps it wrenched in as Triple H reaches. Triple H gets the ropes a little bit, but Cena pulls him out to the middle and applies it more. Triple H then counters out and applies a Crossface. Triple H wrenches back with force. Cena starts to fade. Cena then begins to stand up with Triple H on his back. Cena is up, Triple H fights his way off his back, kick to the gut and Pedigree. Cover by Triple H…1…2…3. Triple H retains the WWE Championship.

Winner & STILL WWE Champion: Triple H

After the match, Triple H pulls down his kneepad and brace favoring his knee. The referee hands Triple H the WWE Championship and he holds it high in the air. John Cena favors his ribs and leaves the ring. Cena walks up the ramp, but stops and turns to look at Triple H. Michael Cole brings up how Triple H is bringing that title to Friday Night Smackdown and we now have two world champions on one brand. Cena heads to the back as Triple H stares him down. Triple H gets up on the corner top rope as we see highlights of the match leading into the finish. Back live, Triple H is holding the WWE Title high in the air in the corner as the PPV goes off the air.
