– In his early career, Allegra competed under his real name for several regional promotions in the US
– On May 6, 2005, Allegra & Mongo fought BPW Tag Team Champions Crazy J & Lotus to a draw
– On October 28, 2005, Allegra fought HWA Heavyweight Champion Cody Hawk to a no-contest in a Lumberjack Match
– In early 2006, Allegra (under the name Karl Anderson) began competing in the New Japan Dojo alongside the likes of Fergal Devitt & Joey Ryan
– On March 12, 2006, Anderson defeated Fergal Devitt to win the NWA British Commonwealth Title
– A week later, Anderson fought Bo Cooper to a double countout to retain the NWA British Commonwealth Title
